Does anyone have the harp tab for Duke Ellington's "Things ain't what they
used to be"?
Here's a possibly neat idea for an exercise:
1. Pick out the tune on your harmonica without the tab.
2. Then obtain the tab and observe the details of the tune that you missed
or got wrong. There will ALWAYS be details that one misses.
This exercise will both improve your ability to pick out tunes without the
tab and will improve your ability to hear the sneaky little details that
make tunes like Ellington's so special.
Even the great jazzmen muff details in Ellington's music, especially the
simpler ones.
